The Cass River Homebrew Club is based in the Saginaw, Flint, Bay City and Midland area of Michigan and it began in 1988. CRHBC was founded by Fred Scheer and Jeff Hervert and the club originally held meetings at the Frankentrost Pub which, unfortunatly, burned down in 2005. The club has over 50 members from Bay, Saginaw and Tuscola Counties and also from Flint, Mt. Pleasant and Port Huron. The club holds monthly meetings on the first Friday of the month at 7 pm. Many meetings are held at local brew pubs and at member's homes.
Cass River Homebrew Club holds homebrewing demonstrations throughout the year and members gather to brew at their homes as well as share brewing knowledge over internet through the club's website, www.crhbc.com or their Facebook group. Members are always willing to give one another advice on techniques.
CRHBC organizes and runs the annual Homebrew at the W.E.B. competition, in each February, which has entries from 16 states and continues to grow every year. The competition is held in Frankenmuth, Michigan each year.
The club also holds a semi-annual trips to brew pubs throughout the state.
